Carmen - Beach
Medium: Oil Pastel + Plastic Sheet + Colour Marker
Date of Creation: 22 & 29 Mar 2008
The key objective set for this lesson is to teach Carmen the proper technique of colour toning. Having 'Sunset by the Beach'as the background, we wanted Carmen to apply toning effect to the Sun, sky and sea using Oil Pastel. Upon completion of the background, we overlayed a plastic sheet to the drawing and gave Carmen the freedom to let her imagination run wild in creating her own scenario. Not a bad attempt by Carmen :)

CARMEN - ChinaTown Pencil Sketch
In this artpiece, Carmen learned to see things with greater details and polished up her skills in drawing things with dimensions. She has demonstrated her ability to manage bigger artpieces, drawing subjects with fine details
CARMEN - Animal Stare!
Carmen has a flair in doing still life and 'real' life drawing. She has been pretty accurate in her object proportion gauging, and have put much attention into details. Very observant girl i must say. Good job Carmen!
CARMEN - Customized Portfolio Bag
Pretty good idea to create a portfolio bag to store all artwork! Really nice to see Carmen using her own masterpieces to 'design' her own portfolio bag. This will be one and only in the world! :)
CARMEN - Dog
Very impressive masterpiece done by Carmen. The dog does look real life on paper! Carmen has successfully created the 'furry' feel on th doggie and it does stands out from the background

Carmen - Popped Up Penguin
Great ideas developed from Carmen's creation!
1) Reversable Popped Up
- Carmen's intention is to create a Penguin popped up. Somehow, when we placed the popped up upside-down, the visual turned into a BULL! Cool creation man. Never expect this could be seen in two dimension :)
2) Letter Holder?
- Carmen wanted to create a 'fish' for her penguin and 'grass' for her bull. When the additional piece was placed in the popped up opening...hey, we can place the popped up card in the house, serving as a 'Letterholder' :)
