YEETONG - Scratch Board "Paris & India Monument"
This is a technic whereby kids can create a special "Scratch Board" of their own, thereafter scratching out visuals that they like on it
Material Needed: Drawing Paper, Oil Pastel, Waterproof Poster (Dark Colour), sharp object (eg ruler, pen, sticks etc)
How to do:
- Step 1: Using Oil Pastel, fill the Drawing Paper with multiple colours. Be as colourful as possible
- Step 2: Paint over the whole coloured paper done in Step 1 with Waterproof Poster Colour
- Step 3: Once the Waterproof paint has dried up, we can start scratching out the design on the painted paper using a sharp object. Multiple colours will appear on the design once the layer of waterproof paint has been scratched out
Our experience:
- Success or failure of this artpiece is highly dependent on the type of oil pastel used. The oil pastel have to be "oily" enough so that scratching using sharp object can be done easily. Basing on our experience, some students faced difficulty in their scratching of design when they have used a different types of oil pastel which is too 'dry'

MY APPRENTICE - YEETONG (MS TAN)
I'm the "Apprentice" to Mr Ho, assisting him in his weekend classes. Kids of younger group tend to need more attention when learning. A class with one teacher to 8-10 over kids is just going to be kind of chaotic, indirectly affecting the learning ability of some kids. Having an 'apprentice' around is to make sure that needs of all kids are being taken care of. Every kid will have their fair share of quality learning with the teachers
