YILIN - Still Life "Fruits"

YiLin did this art piece when she was in Pri 1. For kids of her age, it is definitely a challenge to work on a still life art. Seeing tone and shades is tough for them. We can see effort put in by YiLin in delivering this work. Good attempt YiLin

JEMIMA - The Pink Room

Medium: Poster Colour

Jemima has been rather consistent in her work standard. I like the colour Jemima has chosen in all her art work. In this particular art piece, Jemima's colour sense remains strong but I believe she is capable of delivering a better job if more details has been added to it

Date of Creation: 26 Jan 2008

Since Weixiong is one of the youngest one in class, we have given him the choice to work on a standard size or bigger size paper. So proud of Weixiong as he has chosen to take up the challenge to work on a larger art piece! Tho he still needs some guidance and attention when working on his art piece, he has showed progress in his work over the past few months. Good attempt Weixiong!

JiN ANN - My World of Fantasy with my FAMILY

Medium: Oil Pastel & Water Colour
Date of Creation: 26 Jan 2008

Jin Ann is definitely a kid with strong bonding with her family. This is not the 1st time that she has included all her family members in her drawing. Her art piece is filled with warm colours. Instead of saying this is world of fantasy, i think she is trying to translate her reality in life onto paper! Art is a mean to express ones feelings for sure :) Great job done, JinAnn!

DIVESH - My World of Imagination

Medium: Colour Marker + Poster Colour
Date of Creation: 26 Jan 2008

A bigger piece of drawing paper was given to Divesh in this lesson as we wanted him to attempt producing a bigger art piece. A reference sheet was given to him and we wanted him to start using his imagination to expand on the visual, then put his thoughts onto paper. This may be Divesh's 1st attempt to work on such a large piece of drawing. He is good in drawing of details using colour markers, but once when applying poster paint to his artwork, he finds it hard to strike that balance, hence have lost some of the details in his drawing. At times, Divesh may be a bit 'lost' and need some guidance. With his positive learning attitudes, I'm sure he will be able to cope better next time.

DIVESH - Night Watch Owl

Medium: Oil Pastel & Poster Colour
Date of Creation: 12 Jan 08

In this lesson, a simple outline of a rabbit and an Owl visual was given to student to choose. Divesh has chosen the Owl visual, creating his own background for the owl. I like the colour used by Divesh. He has made his overall drawing looks more refreshing with his use of colour. Take a closer look at his owl, don't you think he has managed to bring out the alertness of an owl at night? Good job!

DIVESH - My Butterfly

Medium: Oil Pastel & Poster Colour
Date of Creation: 5 Jan 2008

This is the 1st art piece Divesh has created in our class. Pretty nice colour combination and I can see that he has a flair in drawing details. Good attempt Divesh!
